Milestone Construction Services completed the transformation of The Lab at ConnCORP, a 20,000 ft² office buildout located within a historic 1917 building in Hamden, Connecticut. Spanning both the Garden Level and Third Floor, the project converted an existing structure into a modern business incubator designed to support entrepreneurship, collaboration, and
economic development.
The scope of work included selective demolition, storefront installation, carpentry and drywall, architectural finishes, and complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire alarm systems. Working within both a century-old and occupied building required extensive coordination and careful sequencing to address existing conditions, maintain a safe environment for occupants, and preserve the integrity and character of the historic structure. Milestone worked closely with the project team to overcome unforeseen challenges common to adaptive reuse projects, ensuring construction progressed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption. Through proactive planning, continuous communication, and hands-on project management, the team successfully delivered a modern workspace that balances contemporary functionality with the building’s historic foundation.
